Pokemon: Conflicting the Backgrounds (Private for me and Asterisk*)

Charise smiled as she pet the eating puppies. "She knows her pup's goin' ta a good person." She said as she watched Spark look curiously at his little siblings, while the puppy in Amy's arms gave Amy's face a lick.

Amy giggled slightly as she was licked before setting the puppy back down so it could eat with her siblings. "So is your growlithe one of Krysta's too?" she asked curiously noticing that that was most likely how Charise got her growlithe as well.

Charise nodded. "Yeah. I got 'im when I was 9. He was tha Runt o' the litter, an' i couldn' let 'im jus' die." She said as she sat on a bench as She watched amy's new Growlithe pup wobble over to Amy, the puppy having had her fill from Krysta's milk. "So Wha' ya'll gonna name her?"

"I actually haven't thought of anything yet." Amy said seeing hte pink colored pokemon coming right back to her and picking her up again. After hearing Charise's story she began to frown a little.

Charise smiled as Spark came over to sniff the little pink puppy. "Ya'll betta' let yer pokemon out ta meet their new fam'ly memba's." She said as she scrathed behind sparks ears, sending his back leg thumping madly.

"Huh, um okay..." Amy said sending out her mmanectric, frillish, and grimer to meet her new grow lithe. "Okay guys this is... Daisy." she said deciding on a name for the pink growlithe. The first to move was Elec who simplybegan sniffing the puppy for a moment before deeming it okay to have around. The wolf then began sniffing around checking out the other puppies and their mother. Juju didn't seem all that interested, she could be quite a priss at times, and Sludgey was only interested in the puppy for a moment before finding other interestign pieces of rubbish around the barn.

Krysta gave Elec a warning growl when he got close to her suckling puppies.

Charise smiled as she stood up. "I'll go get us a small wagon fow Windrider ta pull so Daisy can ride with us." She said as she exited the bar as Mary came in and smiled at Daisy.

Elec growled right back more aggressively but took the hint and backed away from the puppies going back to sniffing around.

"Huh? Um okay." Amy waved at Mary while Grimer continued collecting random rubbish that was littered around the barn.

Mary climbed up onto the bench to sit next to Amy, looking quite pleased at Daisy, who was asleep in Amy's lap.

Krysta frowned as she kept an eye on the smaller wolf, knowing she easily dominated him in size, but would be hindered by her pups in a fight.

Charise soon returned, leading Windrider who had the hitch of a small wooden wagon under his saddle. "Ya'll ready to go herd tha Mareep an' then ride tha ranch?"

Elec soon returned t his mistress's side, along with the other two once she called Sludgey back. Figuring her grimer would cause more trouble if she was out, and knowing it wouldn't be too wise to let a wolf pokemon near a herd of sheep pokemon she returned them to their balls leting Juju stay at since she knew she was too dainty to really try and get into any troubles.

Carrying her new growlithe over she set her in the cart before getting on Windrider. "Okay we can go." she said getting ready to get her ponyta moving.

Charis smiled as Mary climbed in the cart with Daisy, while Charise mounted Glory ans headed back to the Mareep corral. Judging by the sun, it was about 9 am.

Charise smiled. "I hope ya'll okay with bottle-feedin' daisy!"

"Wait that arcanine was willing to part with a puppy that was still nursing?" she asked surprised on how easily she was collecting various pokemon from the farm, it almost made her feel like she was stealing them.

CHarise smiled. "Look at it this way, ya'll gonna learn respons'bility carin' fow a baby yerself." She said as they arrived at the corral to find the Mareep in a panic becaus of a pack of Mightyena. "Oh no! Com'on! We's gotta protect tha herd!" She said as she Charged in on Glory.

"Okay." Amy said not bothering to unhitch her wagon and instead tossing her grimer and manectric into the fray from her distance. "Elec! Use rain dance, and Sludgy mud bomb the mightyyena!" she commanded from her spot on Windrider.

Elec started howling and moving around as clouds gathered making it rain on the area around them and using the mud and her own sludge the grimer launched the filth at the hyena pokemon.

Spark didn't bother with attacks, simplt getting into a dogfight with a Mightyena, while Charise guided Glory to try to trample some of the Mightyena, while Mary used her strength to throw the wolf/hyena pokemon. It seemed the pack had already managed to kill a Mareep. "Amy! Herd tha rest o' the Mareep ta tha house! I'll hol' them off! Take Daisy back with ya'll!" She shouted as she pulled out her lasso and started twirling it in a vertical loop before catche a mightyena around the neck and pulling hard.

"What, I don't know how to do that!" Amy shouted "Besides I've already got Elec working on something that'll scare them off!" she said as electricity began surging around the manectric. Thanks to the rain Amy knew that Elec's thunder attack would be a 100% sure hit on the wild mightyena.

Charise managed to jump down and hogtie the Mightyena she lassoed, throwing some loops around its mouth. "Jus' Open tha gate inta the Ranch!" She said as a Mightyena tackled her and tried to bite her throat if Charise weren't holding back its jaws.

"Shut up Charise!" Amy shouted, this girl had no room to talk when it came to battling. "Elec use thunder!" she commanded. Elec, using the rain it managed to generate a giant bolt of lightning focused on a few of the mightyena. The point of impact left a patch of scorched earth but the result was for sure as it sent the pack of pokemon running, with those that got injured limping away scared of the electric wolf howling them away.

The mightyena trying to rip out Charise's throat left her with a sever bite on her arm when her grip slipped from being startled by the lightning, just as Joe and Ted arrived with Max, who gently picked Charise up. "Wha' was tha' namby pamby dancin' abou'!" Charise shouted at Amy. "Ya'll put tha herd at risk fow yer stupid game!"

"Wait, I put the herd at risk?" Amy said furiously. "I'm sorry but what that was was strategy!" she screamed "I may not know how to take care of a farm, but if I know one thing it's battling! and that was a battle! That herd wouldn't have left unless they were scared enough! Why couldn't Charise have herded them away, she'd be able to do it better, I was raised from the cradle to deal with wild pokemon like that." Amy started tearing up "I cannot believe you stuoid country folk. You think because I'm from the city I don't know how to survive. You think I didn't know how to deal with that situation so you didn't trust me!" she cried "How dare you think so little of me, I know how to battle, my pokemon trust me enough and they came out uninjured, why couldn't you?"

Marcus rode over and frowned at the bite on her arm before turning to Joe and Ted. "Joe, take Charise back ta tha house an' get her cleaned up an' bandaged. Ted, get me a casualty count." He said before frowning at Amy. "Gal, Yer methods may work agains' otha' traina's, but these were hungry predata's. Ya'll don't 'ave time ta make strategy. What Ya'll shoulda done was let yer pokemon fight as comes naturally while ya'll moved tha Mareep out. They's trained ta run from predata's. An' ma lil' Charise was bitten by one o' them!" He shouted.

"Predators? No those were wild pokemon! The same kind trainers like me catch and tame!" Amy shook "I know how to deal with them! Charise knows how to keep the mareep all together, I let one escape last night! Ugh this is so backwards!" she jumped off of her ponyta. "Take your Windrider back, I've worked more than enough to pay you back for a dinner, and if you don't want that than I'll have the money for the meal to you." she said "I'm not some ranch hand for you!" she stormed off her manectric and grimer following behind her.

Marcus glowered at Amy before turning to Ted. "Ted, how many did we lose?"

Mary frowned as she rant after Amy, Windrider pulling the wagon holding Daisy with him as he nudged his head against Amy's arm.

Marigold frowned as she watched Amy come towards the house. "Dearie? Wha' happened? Charise came back Bleedin'."

Amy returned her pokemon to her balls and put the three on her belt flinching away from the machop. "Sorry, Mary, Windrider, Daisy, I probably won't be able to take you three with me." she said saddest most for the unknown fate of the ponyta.

"She didn't trust that I knew how to deal with wild pokemon more than a herd of mareep and got herself hurt. I scared them off though!" she added the last part to highlight that she did know how to take care of the mightyena. She wiped some more tears off her face before more started falling "and now you're whole family hates me becasue I was following my gut and what my mom taught me."

Marigold frowned as she gently hugged Amy and led her into the kitchen, giving her some of her Pecha and Mago berry ice cream. "Dearie, Marcus is not upset at you. He's upset at tha Loss o' Mareep an' potential 'lectricity, an' he's scared fow Charise. Ya'll gotta rememba' we doo things diff'rently from ya'll. Charise wanted ya'll ta open tha gate so tha Mareep could escape tha Mightyena by enterin' tha Ranch pastures, where tha Tauros, Miltank, an' Ranch Hands coulda protected them." She said, rubbing Amy's back.
