Mother and Baby Reunite (private)

Name: Elizabeth Moore
Age: 16
Personality: Tough and rebellious to her friends and even her parents, but insecure and an emotional wreck internally due to years of abuse dealt to her mother by her father.

"Elizabeth Moore, to the front office immediately!" The intercom echoed throughout a classroom in the local high school. A series of simultaneous "oohs" could be heard from students as the teacher at the front raised an eyebrow. One student in particular stood up, slowly inching her way out of the way of the small passageway of desks that made up the room.

"Oh, shut up. Like you dumbasses haven't gotten in trouble before." The girl retaliated, only garnering snickers from the other students as she slowly headed out of the room.

Elizabeth was a very attractive girl for a high school sophomore. She was smart and easily able to do right things and make good choices. But... she didn't care enough to do either. She constantly found herself failing tests, ending up in fights and getting herself in mounds of trouble because she simply didn't care about what would happen anymore. Personally, she liked the sort of attitude she presented towards others and grew a reputation based around that attitude, gaining friends like her and adversaries like teachers and harder-working students. However, that didn't necessarily mean that she was completely bad with everything she did, as it turns out that she is a rather gifted flute player in her school's band. Although a major contrast from her rough-as-nails personality, there was something about that instrument that she really liked, something that soothed her greatly and allowed her to be attentive in music class.

She was currently being called into the office because another student had broken her flute in half. Elizabeth repaid that student by breaking his nose with a solid right hand to the face, earning her a detention, office trip and contact with one of her parents (more than likely her mother). Personally, the girl was beginning to grow tired of being called into the office so many times. It was her third time being pulled into the principal's office this year... and the first semester hadn't even ended yet.

Groaning as she took her sweet time walking down the hall, she finally made her way to the door which led to the office. When she twisted the handle down and opened the door, she was shocked to discover that the principal wasn't currently the only one in the room. Elizabeth's mother was sitting right next to an empty seat! She knew her mother would eventually become aware of this, but not in THIS way.

"Hey... mom..." The girl groaned, feeling very awkward as her mother had rarely stepped foot inside of the school.

Name: Gracia Moore
Age: 40
Personality: Gracia is an intelligent, caring woman, but one people rarely see at her best. She maintains a mask of stoicism concerning her abusive marriage, but internally, she is torn up and incredibly lonely inside. Gracia has a very stubborn streak she passed on to her daughter, which has not helped her deal with Elizabeth, the center of her world these past 16 years, growing more distant from her.

It had not been a very good day for Gracia so far. After Elizabeth had headed out for school at the start of the day, Gracia had been walking on eggshells in her own home as she almost always found herself doing in those torturous hours between when her husband got up and when he went off to catch the train to work. From there, she'd been disastrously trying to convince a client not to cancel her Graphic Design commission with their company before getting the call that her daughter was in deep trouble at school.

The principal had just finished laying out a horror story before her; Elizabeth's grades plummeting without warning, her sudden upswing in violent altercations and other punishment-worthy infractions...it was like listening to someone talk about her daughter like she was someone Gracia had never met. Even now, her mind reeled at the idea Elizabeth had been lying to her this whole time about what went on at school.


That didn't stop it from registering as truth with her, and she looked up at Elizabeth, only just now entering the room, her normally very pretty face (a good forecast of Elizabeth's own when she finished maturing) full of disappointment

"Please, have a seat, Elizabeth." She said, keeping her face and voice carefully neutral.

It was easy to tell from the woman's face that a hint of disappointment loomed over her head, and her passive voice obviously held some restraint. Elizabeth knew that she was now in deep trouble. She had never come about to telling her mother about these past altercations because she didn't want another unneeded person involved. She felt that she was perfectly capable of handling situations like this by herself, an idea which constantly failed to surface.
Plus, the amount of backlash that would be faced should her father find out the truth of her actions would be something the girl did not want to be a part of.

Elizabeth did indeed sit down, not as much nervous as she would agitated at knowing it had come down so quickly to this. "So... you found out, huh?" The girl brought it up first, hoping it'd help to somewhat clean her slate.
